'Use analytics and keyword tracking in B2B SEO campaigns'
27/11/2008
Companies looking to improve their business-to-business (B2B) search engine optimisation (SEO) campaign should track their keywords, an expert has suggested.
According to Patricia Hursh of SearchEngineLand.com, a basic search marketing tool is a keyword tracker, such as WebPosition.
This type of software helps firms understand how visible their site is for certain keywords.
Using analytics establishes whether keywords "actually drive traffic to your website" after SEO.
Ms Hursh noted that branded terms usually drive a steady number of visitors to B2B websites.
However, she said that one of the main goals for firms using SEO is to become visible for unbranded searches.
In related news, Google recently launched a help forum to aid companies using its analytics tool.
Users will be able to receive help and tips on using the software from Google professionals as well as other people on the forum.
The best answers to questions posted will be voted for by the sites users.
