Continuous SEO can boost ecommerce over Christmas

26/11/2008

Companies looking to make the most of the boom in ecommerce during the Christmas period should ensure they conduct continuous search engine optimisation (SEO), it has been suggested.

According to Steve Davis, executive vice-president of GSI Commerce Europe, firms should maintain their SEO strategies throughout the peak shopping season, reports Net Imperative.

He said: "This process should cover site content, structure and linking, external links and banners, all of these elements drive relevancy improvements."

Mr Davis added that companies should support their SEO tactics by ensuring the infrastructure within the business can handle the boom in sales.

Focusing on online customer service may also provide firms with an advantage in the holiday period.
