SEO is the 'be all and end all' in the travel market

Search engine optimisation (SEO) has been described by an expert as the "be all and end all" in the current travel market.

According to Sam Morris, account director at Latitude, SEO is important because in the current financial climate people are giving more thorough consideration to searching for a holiday.

Consequently, agencies need to think about the ways in which client thought processes have change.

Increasing numbers of consumers will spend more time online looking for the best deals before they book a break.

Mr Morris said: "SEO is the be all and end all in the current market because overall people are going to be more thoughtful when they search."

WhatsOnWhen Online Content & Marketing Survey revealed that SEO is the area in which budgets are most often being increased among travel agents.

More than 84 per cent of firms are planning to either keep spending on online marketing at their current level or increase the amount spent.
