Blogs 'improve SEO performance'

Creating blogs for a website can help firms looking to improve their search engine optimisation (SEO) performance, it has been claimed.
According to Rich Brooks, president of Flyte New Media, blogs offer lot of links and provide a "feast" for search engines, reports MaineBusiness.com.
He noted that blogs are more attractive to other businesses and are more likely to be linked to than websites without them.
They also provide web designers with the opportunity to create more pages which can improve search engine rankings.
The fact that blogs are centred around content could also help with SEO because crawlers for search engines such as Google and Yahoo look for this over Flash, photos and videos.
Recent research conducted by Harte-hanks Company found that most firms adopt SEO practices in a bid to achieve better rates of conversion, both online and offline.
The study claimed that in the current economic climate it may be advisable for firms to make certain SEO practice is up to date to ensure that the business survives.
