Google releases Ad Planner with new features

13/11/2008

Google has revealed the latest version of Ad Planner, which the firm claims has a host of new features and is available to anyone with a Google account.

Those involved in search marketing will now be able to define their audience by both keywords and geography, as well as focussing on specific cities or states.

Users can now manage site results through three new ranking methods.

Companies will be capable of choosing between sites most likely to attract the target audience, larger known sites to increase the campaign scale, or a blend or the two.

The demographic data has been expanded to include nations in Europe, such as France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.

Ad Planner's interactive bubble chart allows subscribers to compare sites in their media plan by demographic, frequency, traffic and unique visitors.

In related news, Google recently pulled out of a search deal with rivals Yahoo, which could open the way for Microsoft and Yahoo to join forces.
