Search marketers should check for malware

Those involved in search marketing should ensure that sites are checked for malware before they are linked for search engine optimisation (SEO) purposes.
According to Search Engine Journal, it is always a good idea to check and monitor inbound links to partners sites.
This will enable SEO experts to establish whether or not they belong to obvious link swapping or reciprocal linking schemes.
Loren Baker at Search Engine Journal claims that many SEO professionals think that building bad links to a site they wish to target will lead to lower Google rankings.
Therefore, it is advisable to protect a site from bad linking and to ensure that other linked pages have not been flagged by Google for containing malware.
Ecommerce firms preparing for the holiday period have been advised by PJ Fusco at Clickz.com to hold onto last year's URLs and to update them for Christmas.
Refreshing title tags, the XML Sitemap and getting some last-minute links are other measures Ms Fusco recommends.
