Web design experts 'should listen to customer feedback'

11/11/2008

Experts involved in web design have been advised to listen to feedback from customers, but to be wary of the source of the comments.

According to newsweaver.ie, it is important to establish whether or not websites meet the needs of the majority of customers.

The online portal noted that managers should be looking to use limited resources to achieve the maximum return.

This can be done by making changes based on the comments of the average user rather than those who have highly specialised or exceptional needs.

Newsweaver.ie said: "There are always a small set of top tasks within an environment that have huge demand. Then, there is an almost limitless supply of exceptional tasks and demands from customers."

It added that spending time on exceptional tasks could reduce the time available to adjust the web design to cope with the top tasks.

In related news, the Financial Times website is set to unveil its new design which it is thought will be closer in looks to that of the print publication.
