Flexible web design 'in high demand'

The UK is currently experiencing an increasing demand for flexible web design services, it has been suggested.

Kronik Media, a website design company, said that small firms find it hard to update their webpages because there is a lack of expertise in the web design and software sector within their organisation.

According to the design firm, companies are often capable of the basic or initial design stage but struggle to modify or update the websites.

It commented: "We live in a world of change. New technology is released on a regular basis. Business websites need to be able to respond timely to the changing needs of their customers as well to technological advancements."

Responding to a question sent in by a reader, Karen Klein, a web design expert for the Los Angeles Times stated that it is crucial to make websites simple and easy to navigate.

She said complicated graphics are not always necessary and it is better to use "negative space" to allow the key components to "breathe".
