Growth predicted for UK online ad spending

29/10/2008

Internet advertising is expected to continue to grow strongly over the next year, according to a recent study.

The Internet Advertising Market Assessment 2008 revealed that the growth of broadband use in the country and increasing importance of paid-for search marketing mean the sector is likely to remain strong, reports Key Note Publications.

It revealed that search marketing continues to be popular, particularly with companies in the travel and finance industries because it is simple and measuring its success is easy.

The research found that 93 per cent of respondents who accessed the internet in the 12 months up to the survey could do so when at home.

More than one quarter said that they have clicked on internet advertisments while 52 per cent thought that ads with music or video were more attractive.

In related news, Times of the Internet recently stated that many firms have realised the benefits of hiring search engine optimisation professionals as they can perform additional tasks such as changing coding and external links.
