IT pros use search to find solutions

Recent research has revealed that experts in the IT sector regularly use the internet to find solutions.

Conducted by IT media company TechTarget, the study found that 97 per cent of professionals search online frequently during their purchase process.

It also revealed that 67 per cent will click on links put up by unfamiliar advertisers, while four in ten said they read search advertising.

Greg Strakosch, chief executive officer of TechTarget, stated that over 6.6 million qualified IT professionals were questioned in the survey.

He said that this study is the first to examine the attitudes of members of the industry and their practices surrounding video, mobile and RSS publishing.

In related news, earlier this month, Google released figures that demonstrated how strong pay-per-click advertising is at the moment.

The search engine giants confirmed that the number of paid clicks rose by four per cent in the last quarter compared with the three months before, according to a blog on Jumpfly.
