Ecommerce web design 'should focus on efficiency'

Ecommerce companies should look at improving customer efficiency when considering the web design of their sites, according to experts.
Professionals at EcommerceTimes.com recommend that firms install functions allowing shoppers to add multiple items to their cart with one click.
Dynamic landing pages are also desirable to maximise the search engine optimisation of the site and to make it easier for customers to browse other products of the same sort.
Strategically placed "recently viewed items" shortcuts can also be beneficial to persuade consumers to make additional purchases.
Ensuring that the search results can be easily organised and browsed by visitors to the site can also be an advantage to both consumer and business alike.
Julian Chu, of EcommerceTimes, commented: "Be sure to provide clear guidance in any workflow process by using visual indicators. The most obvious example is in the checkout process, where step-by-step status indicators have become standard on ecommerce sites."
In related news, ShopSite recently announced that it is releasing new shopping cart and catalogue software for ecommerce sites.
