Online companies can 'learn about SEO from competitors'
20/10/2008
Firms looking to improve their search engine optimisation (SEO) performance can learn from other established companies in their sector, it has been claimed.
According to Search Engine Journal, rival businesses may have already come across some of the "numerous pitfalls" and learned how to cope with them.
Failing to research the SEO techniques of other companies in the industry may mean that firms end up trying to promote themselves "blind".
Ann Smarty, an expert at the online portal, notes that looking for problems in competitor's strategies may be the best way to go.
She commented: "By merely copying your competitor, you will never be able to surpass him."
Ms Smarty added that looking for errors in other firm's online tactics could give businesses "good chances to get ahead of him".
