Marketers 'planning to increase online spend'

16/10/2008

A recent study revealed that marketers are planning to increase the amount of money they spend on online campaigns.

Conducted by MarketingProfs, the survey of 600 professionals in the sector found that many are considering reducing the amount they spend overall and increase the budgets for online marketing.

A total of 60 per cent said that they would be allocating more funds to advertising online while 85 per cent stated that overall marketing spend would be dropped.

However, Janet Meiners of Marketing Pilgrim noted that it may be a better idea to increase the amount dedicated to advertising in the current economic climate.

She said that doing this could help to reassure clients that the business is doing well and inform them of positive news within the company.

Companies looking to increase their overall traffic may wish to make sure that they have an attractive website, according to NewDesignWorld.com.

An industry professional by the name of MaryMary said that a website is one of the best ways to "maximise company exposure".
