Good SEO can help firms survive the current economic climate

09/10/2008

Companies looking to weather the current economic downturn should ensure that they have good search engine rankings, it has been claimed.

Experts at sevicewrap.net say that online firms and ecommerce sites need to have a strong online presence in order to survive.

This can be achieved through effective search engine optimisation (SEO) and through finding "good value advertising".

Servicewrap.net advised businesses to look at the ways they could increase "foot-flow" to their websites and to consider how they can turn browsers into buyers.

In addition, it compares search engines to high streets, saying that a high-ranking position on an engine such as Google can equate to a prominent real-life retail location.

It also urges companies not to cut back too much on their advertising spend as this could compromise the traffic that is directed to the site.

A recent survey of US businesses by SLI Systems found that SEO, search marketing and email marketing are the top three tools for ecommerce sites.
