SEO in top three e-commerce tools

A recent study has found that search engine optimisation (SEO) is one of the top three tools used by e-commerce sites.

Of the businesses polled, 90 per cent of the US retailers ranked site search, SEO and email marketing as the three most important technologies to promote their company, according to a survey by SLI Systems.

The research revealed that almost nine out of ten firms were already using these three techniques.

Others that were found to be emerging in popularity were social media tools and online video.

Susan Aldrich, senior vice president of the Patricia Seybold Group, commented: "A site with great site search, personalised with the merchandise most appealing to that customer and providing the reassurance of customer ratings and reviews, will attract and keep customers."
