Ask gets an overhaul
07/10/2008
The internet search engine Ask.com is being subjected to an overhaul so that it can deliver faster search results, which may interest those involved in search engine optimisation (SEO).
It is hoped that this move will allow the site to compete with market leaders Google and Yahoo!, reports Reuters.
The chief executive of the company Jim Safka recently announced that the move would make the service up to 30 per cent faster.
He also claimed that early tests had revealed that there was a 16 per cent increase in the number of users who returned to the new search page.
Mr Safka commented: "We're expanding the depth and breadth of our structured data to bring users serendipitous results."
He added that it was the goal of the company to reduce the number of clicks used in a search to just one.
The new adverts for the site feature the actress who plays the character Pat in Little Britain.
