Journalists 'look for About, Press and Blog links'

Companies thinking of revamping their website design have been advised to make them easy to navigate for journalists.

Experts at e-consultancy.com say that the first thing looked for is a link to an About Us page as it can help them to "flesh out articles".

In addition, the inclusion of a Press link into the web design, with information on recent company news, media contacts and links to other references to the firm could prove beneficial.

Finally, links to company blogs can also yield greater online exposure as it provides writers with direct access to company comment on up-to-date issues.

E-consultancy.com added that a blog could be used to provide researchers with access to company executives without having to go through a PR department.

In related news, the co-founder of Google Sergey Brin has started writing his own blog on the weblogging website bought by his company five years ago, according to the American Free Press.
