Online marketing 'can help firms prosper in downturn'

22/09/2008

Businesses who have a strong online presence can prosper during the economic downturn, it has been suggested.

The claim was made by search marketing company Loveclients, which stated that search traffic is still growing, as more people start to work from home and shoppers head online in pursuit of ways to save money on their essential purchases.

Those trends will help internet-based firms and organisations that can develop successful online marketing strategies, it continued.

Loveclients advised companies to assess their financial position and identify low-cost marketing ideas which would help them grow.

"Invest in traceable advertising and marketing to ensure you're not spending more money than you need to. Search engine optimisation, pay-per-click, email blasts, webvertising are all intelligent choices," it recommended.

A recent article published by Brand Republic suggested the constantly evolving discipline of search marketing is now too important to be done in-house and that companies should budget for employing an agency.ADNFCR-1679-ID-18789688-ADNFCR
