Social networking website design 'is booming'

Increasing numbers of firms are looking to creative online marketing to get through the current economic downturn, it has been claimed.
While some target existing sites, such as Facebook or MySpace, other firms are looking to a design agency to create their own social networking sites, reports DesignTaxi.com.
According to Fuchsia McInerey, chief executive officer of Pearse Street Consulting, many companies looking to improve their online performance using innovative website design to create their own social networking sites.
She commented: "The most progressive businesses and 'serial entrepreneurs' are now creating their own industry-specific niche networks that offer the same interactive features, with unique tools that serve their particular target demographic."
In related news, Bill Tancer of Hitwise recently stated that young internet users are increasingly spending time online social networking rather than looking at "adult sites", reports TechTree.com.
