Blogs 'may be a useful addition to company websites'

Companies embarking on a website design project may want to include a blog for marketing purposes, if recent comments by one expert are anything to go by.
Speaking to Crain's Manchester Business, David Bird, course leader for the MSc in digital marketing communications at Manchester Metropolitan University, explained that blogs can be a useful way of engaging with clients.
He noted that blogs should not be viewed as a channel for one-way broadcasting of information and said they are instead a viable means of displaying expertise in a particular sector, as well as allowing clients to bring up any concerns they may have.
"The best blogs are the ones that allow unmoderated comment. It exposes the business but you can't afford not to do it," Mr Bird stated.
Blogger Oli Barrett recently told the Telegraph that online journals represent one of the best ways of marketing a business on the internet.
