Fresh, original content 'important for SEO'

Businesses should ensure their websites are regularly updated with new content to boost search engine optimisation (SEO), according to one expert.
Caroline Melberg of US consultancy Small Business Mavericks said that companies should never consider their sites to be "finished" as they should be constantly updated, ideally with new articles based on specific topics, Small Business Informer reports.
Organisations should aim for one article a week and should avoid uploading too much content in a short period of time, as this could be detrimental to search engine rankings, she noted.
"You only need to implement a few simple things on a regular basis and over time Google will notice and your page rank and your placement with the search engines will start climbing," Ms Melberg concluded.
Google engineer Matt Cutts told USA Today earlier this year that creating a blog and regularly updating it can do wonders for SEO.
