Travel firm Orbitz Worldwide has highlighted the benefits that implementing a search engine optimisation (SEO) campaign has had for its network of sites.
Speaking during the company's earnings conference call for the second quarter of 2008, Orbitz chief executive Steve Barnhart discussed the firm's global platform, to which it expects to see more of its sites migrate.
"Where we've rolled our new platform out in Europe, we are seeing good improvement in traffic from SEO," he commented, according to Travolution.
While Mr Barhart did not divulge specific figures relating to this, he said that the Orbitz.com website saw its transactions from paid search fall by 20 per cent in July compared with the same month last year.
Barbara Pezzi of Swissotel Hotels & Resorts recently told eyefortravel.com that hotels should target their SEO strategies to reach specific segments of the online population as it is hard to perform well on all possible keywords for the accommodation sector, m-travel.com reports.
